The women leaders in the 8 local government council of Delta State Central senatorial district led by Mrs. Dora Sakpaide has urged Urhobo of Delta State Central to look at the issues being canvassed by Hon. Evelyn Oboro, member, representing Okpe Sapele and Uvwie federal constituency with a view to giving her the necessary support and cooperation for her to represent the senatorial district in the Senate come elections 2019.
They made this appeal at their meeting at the Delta State Central PDP Headquarters, Airport Road, Effurun. Earlier· Hon Evelyn Oboro thanked them for their support and said that she is further encouraged.
In a brief interview with newsmen, Oboro said she is overwhelming with the acceptance she has received so far within the short period she has declared her intention to run for the senatorial race.
Evelyn Oboro disclosed that when somebody is in the grace it is the grace that follow him and by the grace of God victory is certain.
All the eight women leaders and former women leaders of the eight local government areas were present. Oboro also disclosed that “nobody has been anointed as a special candidate by the PDP as its candidate for the senatorial contest contrary to the insinuation that "our leader has anointed candidate. that is not true"
She promised to create employment by working with members of Federal House of Representatives to established farm settlements where agricultural products shall be exported if given the opportunity to go to the Senate.
Oboro said that as an experience lawmaker and member of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, she has. Influenced a lot of water, electricity, township roads, healthcare projects and building of classroom projects to her federal constituency.
She urged Urhobo to send her to the Senate and by doing so they are not going to regret doing so, as she will meet members of the House of Representatives from Urhobo land to pool their constituency funds together to execute projects that will be beneficial to the entire Urhobo Nation, and at the same time meet with various stakeholders by organizing a town hall meeting on how farm settlements shall be established across the entire Urhobo land with a view to not only reducing hunger and poverty, but also to create jobs and wealth to the extent that some of the agricultural products shall be exported as well.
She promised to investigate the misery surrounding the controversial pipeline surveillance jobs as to whether some slots were given out or not, or whether somebody somewhere is sitting on it or not, and report back to Urhobo the true position of things.
Hon. Evelyn Oboro assured that if she is elected as the Senator representing Delta Central she will never allow anybody to short change Urhobo.
She also assured that education as it affects the welfare and wellbeing of the Urhobo child or children will be given priority. "The era where our children are sitting on bare floor without desks and chairs will be a thing of the past"
She enumerated some of her projects and various empowerment as thus, building and furniture of Iteregbe Health Centre Uvwie LG A, Agaga Health Care Centre, Uvwie LGA, Ogunja Health Centre, Sapele LGA, presentation of 30 tricycles, to Okpe, 30 to Sapele and 30 to Uvwie.
Installation of solar lights in Orerokpe, Okpe LGA, construction ofAdeje Health Centre, Okpe LGA, Purchase and installation of transformers at Ebrumede and Ugbolokposo Uvwie LGA.
Also prevailing on NDDC for construction of township roads in Sapele, Osubi , Okuokoko, Uvwie, Okpe and provision of free eye treatment where a lot of persons with eye problems were· treated in the federal constituency among others.
